David Grandison Jr – Producer
David Grandison Jr. is an award-winning producer who grew up in Detroit in the 80’s when Detroit Techno was born. This project started with his work interviewing and documenting Detroit Techno artists at the first DEMF in Detroit in 2000 as part of the TechnoMecca short film series. He is currently Executive Producer for Yellowbrick (Yellowbrick.co) a company that video-based online learning. He has also produced and launched projects like AMAZE (AMAZE.org) which innovatively teaches young people about health through animation. David’s work also encompasses projects like DIYdoc, a crowd-sourced filmmaking app. He also founded the Music Origins Project (MusicOrigins.org), a website that enables people to explore locations important to music history in Virtual Reality. This project’s companion project Detroit Techno 101 can be found on this site. David holds a Master’s in Instructional Technology and Media from Columbia University (TC) and he has over 20 years of expertise in creating video, mobile apps, games, and creating transmedia projects.
Reggie Dokes – Composer
Born and raised in Detroit, this Atlanta transplant has been a DJ since his youth. From backyard and basement parties as a youth to the small club scene of metro Detroit, Reggie Dokes eventually became a sought-after DJ in Detroit. Reggie is currently a professional DJ, music producer, and composer for television and film, considered by DJ Mag to be one of several music producers from Detroit keeping the sound of Detroit (deep house, techno) alive internationally. Over the years, Reggie has released singles, EPs, and albums independently on various independent labels domestically and internationally, and on his own imprint; Psychostasia Recordings, and Detroit Westside Kid Records. He has recently transitioned into the world of composing for film and TV, Reggie has also landed music in the recent docuseries Cop Watch on BET and a film based on the best-selling novel Monster by Walter Dean Myers. Over the years as a producer of deep house and techno, Reggie Dokes has managed to release EP projects with various underground labels from the U.S. to Europe and he is the host of the GSGEDM Behind the Scenes Podcast.
Delmar Washington – Associate Producer
NAACP Image Award Nominee, Delmar Washington, was born in Philadelphia, PA. He received his Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Southern California, School of Cinematic Arts. He began his career at Simmons Lathan Media Group where he produced Brave New Voices (HBO) and Russell Simmons Presents: Stand Up at the El Rey (Comedy Central). He has worked for the Africa Channel, directing and producing a sports documentary series for AT&T (featuring Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao and Canelo Alverez) and has directed and produced a six-part stand-up comedy series airing on Showtime Networks. As a filmmaker, he directed the upcoming film CHRIS’S BRISS and produced the feature film SEA HORSE (to be released this year). Delmar is truly dedicated to working with great foundations and has directed and produced PSA’s for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Girls Scouts (LA chapter), the LA Sparks and Intel.
Mary O’Brien – Associate Producer
Mary O’Byrne is an Associate Producer of God Said Give Em Drum Machines. Mary is a techno enthusiast with an interest in documentary films who has been involved with the GSGEDM since the fall of 2019.
Eric Jackson – Associate Producer
Eric Jackson is an Associate Producer on ‘God Said Give Em’ Drum Machines’. He is a Detroit native Techno enthusiast who has been deeply committed to our mission of telling the story of Detroit Techno. Eric has worked in the film industry since 2001, on films like 8-mile, Red Dawn, and Transformers.
Chris Riley – Impact
A native Detroiter, Chris has over two decades of strategic planning, on-the-ground community organizing and social activism experience across issues of women’s rights, economic justice and LGBT civil rights. She has consulted for various political campaigns and organizations and served as Field Director for both MassEquality and Equality California. Over the past decade, Chris has worked as an Impact Producer on films such as The Campaign, The Genius of Marian, Sweet Dreams, Buried Above Ground and other documentary films. Chris is dedicated to making social change through the power of film and story.
